I TOTALLY CAN. Because I'm just a badass like that. Side note: the above picture is them after a day of wear. This is important because...well, you can find out after the jump! (materials, etc., will be shown)

DIY Galaxy Print Sneakers
After my post on DIY tribal print sneakers, I found another pair of the canvas shoes I used-unfortunately, they were a little bit dirty. I've mentioned Wanelo before, but it is absolutely one of the best sites for inspiration, and one day when I was kicking around the site, I saw at least three different pairs of galaxy print sneakers. My first post on this blog was about galaxy nails, and it's a pattern I really like. Since I have the basic knowledge on how to create it, I thought "I can do that", looking at all those other shoes. And it turns out...

Sunshine, Sunshine Is Fine
The lyrics in the title (Sunshine by Atmosphere) are the opposite of the weather right now, but oh so accurate on how my current mani makes me feel. The blue-green-yellow gradient just feels like summer, you know?
Unfortunately, my camera is lost in my messy, messy room, so I ended up taking pictures with my iPhone, but they're still pretty decent. I used a tutorial from Teen Vogue that uses a cheap brush instead of a makeup sponge, since every time I've attempted to use a sponge I've ended up with a lot of polish in the sponge and none on my nails. It's probably the sponges or polishes I've tried, but now I have a tutorial that works for me!
Check out the polishes, etc. after the break:

Taking a Break...for Kittens
Not that anyone in particular will read this, but I haven't been posting lately due to the fact that I've been hand-raising two feral kittens so they can be adopted by friends. The precious babies have absolutely MURDERED my hands, but they're getting big enough that I think I'll have time to try out a gradient mani today!

DIY Tribal Print Sneakers
Nails aren't my only passion. I love DIYing, and today I managed to score two pairs of white canvas sneakers for $10 and finally bought a set of Tulip Fabric Markers so I could decorate them. Since tribal is huge, and I don't see it going away any time this summer, I figured it would be the perfect pattern. I Googled "tribal print" for inspiration and just kind of went from there!
For the few steps I used, check after the break! (Update: I went over them a second time this morning, and the colors are SO much bolder.)

Happy Birthday Baby Bear!
More important than any mani: the sassy little lady pictured below just turned 17! We adopted her right before my 5th birthday, and she's been the best cat a girl could ask for. Sure, she's surly and bitey and doesn't let me cuddle her all the time, but she's a cat. That's what they do.
Pocahontas, aka Pokey, Miss Pickles, Baby Bear, Piggles, Buhbeh, etc.
(I have a nickname problem.)
Yes, I did name my cat Pocahontas. I was five! And I loved that movie! I'm actually 99.9% sure that my birthday party that year was Pocahontas themed, but this little fur baby was the best gift by far.
The mani this time was simple:
Base Coat was Julep in Annette, with an accent topcoat of Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me and Essie Matte About You on all the others. This was my first time using Julep, and I was really pleased. It dried quickly and most of my nails got great opaque coverage with one coat. It's also "3-FREE", which, frankly, doesn't really matter to me, as most of my collection is from some drugstore or another, but it's nice to pretend I'm being aware or something.

Antony and Cleopatra
So the quality of my nails is HORRIBLE in these pictures, due to an array of life surprises. Between fishing and cooking and general adventuring, my nails were a little worn when I finally got a picture done. I used Sinful Colors Mint Apple for most of my nails, with an accent nail on each hand in Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I.
Every time I use Golden-I (and especially with this turquoise) it always reminds me of Egypt-so I went with an Egyptian/Shakespeare-y title for this post. A new mani should be coming up soon, when my life gets a little less exciting.

Spurs vs. Thunder Game 1-Mani Laziness
I had such good intentions starting out, but trying to do my nails while watching one of the most nerve-wracking games of the playoff season ended up being pretty much impossible, so I just did a simple geometric mis-matched sort of tape mani. I mean, I know it was only the first game, but coming off of 18 straight wins...trailing for most of the game did not make me happy.
I'm also going to apologize for the quality of my nails: I did them Sunday night and then spent all of yesterday helping my dad pack up his classroom, which wasn't very nail-friendly. Related: Matte About You looks great for the first couple of days (I actually just wore Black on Black with the matte topcoat for most of the day to make sure they were absolutely dry/because it looked awesome) but it does tend to get a little bit shiny the longer you wear it-I think that's visible on my index finger.
Polishes: Sinful Colors Black on Black, Essie Matte About You, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City
(I really need to start using some new colors, I swear I'll mix it up soon!)
